In 2020, Autism Inclusion was founded to build the capacity of Early Learning & Care services to support autistic children and their families. Over the years we continued to grow and expand our services, so to better reflect the diverse range of individuals and organisations we support, Autism Inclusion rebranded to Neurominded in December 2024. This new name embodied our mission and commitment to fostering inclusive communities where all neurodivergent people can thrive.

Our Sevices

We offer a range of capacity-building options to early childhood services, schools, and other organisations wanting to increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully include neurodivergent children and young people. Customised professional development is designed in collaboration with your leadership team to ensure the content, format, and structure align with the team’s training needs and desired learning outcomes.

In-house Workshops

Face-to-face training sessions can be delivered at your school, early learning service, or organisation during business hours or after hours.

Community Information Sessions

Presentations, workshops, or informal sessions for parents, carers or other community members wanting to learn more about one of our topics.

Coaching Sessions

Ongoing practical support and consultancy that provide opportunity to consolidate every team member’s capability to embed inclusive practices.

Mentoring Sessions
Opportunities to debrief and reflect on coaching or training sessions, and guide team members in planning actions to translate new knowledge into practice.
Visual Supports
Handy tools, templates, and visual aids are explored and modelled during coaching sessions, then customised and shared as part of comprehensive projects.

To promote sustainable learning and long-term outcomes, most Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) teams prefer more comprehensive training and development packages that include a personalised combination of the above services. When co-designing your capacity-building project, we consider the unique needs of your educators and the children in their care. Typically, these projects run across a few months and can be fully funded through the Inclusion Support Program (ISP).

Inclusion
Development Funding

The ISP provides Inclusion Development Funding to eligible ECEC services to address inclusion barriers by building educator capacity to care for children with additional needs. There are four separate streams of support available, with Innovative Solutions Support being one of the most powerful, but underutilised streams. Innovative Solutions Support provides funding for flexible and tailored solutions, such as Specialised Training & Advice, and Guided Practice projects. For more information about this government funding, talk to your local Inclusion Agency, or visit the IDFM website.

Our Approach

Our services are delivered in line with the 2023 National Guideline for supporting the learning, participation, and wellbeing of autistic children and their families in Australia. Our approach is neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed, and promotes child-centred, holistic, strengths-based and rights-based practices. Our methodology focuses on meeting children’s diverse needs to ensure meaningful engagement, participation and learning for all children. Our inclusion projects are designed to increase educator capacity to address barriers by implementing foundational supports and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Teams are also supported to identify the need and make personalised adjustments to support specific children and their families.
